If you
hike the wilderness of our country, you may find Clark
holding ground with the large format camera his friends
refer to as his "Wife". Steadfast for sometimes a day or
more at one location, waiting for just the right moment,
Clark seeks the best light and conditions that will help
capture the “perfect shot.” His ability to see the
unique quality of light at the moment of capture and his
patience, forged by his dedication to "catching the big
one" elevates his work to the level you see here today.
Clark's perspective that "Every scene has it's own
character, it's own personality," creates the foundation
on which his images are composed. A short tour through
his portfolio reveals his ability to record breathtaking
images that are hidden to many and are waiting for the
right moment to greet the world. His images stand out
from the crowd and bring the height of emotion and all
the available beauty of a scene for the enjoyment of the
viewer's eyes.
Clark endeavors to share the beauty of the world with
others, and protect it for future generations. His
stewardship of the environment has resulted in other
professional photographers recognizing him as the "guy
they saw picking up the trash along the trails".
Self taught and self-motivated, Clark’s skills continue
to hone with each and every click of his view-camera
shutter. Knowing their advantages, he prefers to shoot
only on fine-grained professional transparency and black
& white negative films. His images are then presented in
print using modern Professional Fuji Crystal Archive
photographic paper and Archival Giclee Printing methods.
